Using Natural Skin Care Products And Cosmetics

I began using all natural products when my illness began to worsen (ME/CFS). After much research and study I began to understand that the toxins around us cause much of the illnesses today. I have found that I really enjoy making and using all natural skin care products and cosmetics.

During the month of July I concentrated on listing and featuring some of my all natural cleaning products; however, what I listed is not the full extent and there will be more in the future. This upcoming month of August I am hoping to feature more of my skin care and cosmetics.

There are two cosmetic items I doubt I will ever sell at Naturally Ethereal and that is eyeliner and mascara. The first and most important reason for this is that eye cosmetics should always be fresh! Bacteria grows very easily in eyeliner and mascara and this causes eye infections. I feel that if I were to sell it in my store, it would not be fresh enough when my customer receives the item. Eye make-up is something one must always be very very careful with.

Eyeliner is extremely simple to make. I simply use activated charcoal and distilled water. I prefer to purchase activated charcoal which is in the capsules because it pre-measured in the perfect amount. I simply open the capsule and pour the contents into a small glass jar I use to store my eyeliner. I then add one dropper full of distilled water and mix it up until the charcoal is dissolved. The amount of water you use is based on personal preference. I would simply experiment by starting off with a small amount of distilled water and adding more until you get the consistency that you prefer. I then apply my eyeliner with a very thin art brush. Please, by all means, NEVER use tap water! Tap water has chemicals added and also contains bacteria, both of which are very detrimental to good eye health.

I have a second reason for not selling mascara. I cannot seem to come up with a formula that is suitable. I have tried others’ recipes and I have tried coming up with my own formulas but I always end up looking like a raccoon within twenty minutes of applying the mascara. Just because it does not work for me, does not mean it will not work for you, however. There are many recipes for homemade mascara on the internet which you might want to try. The two websites that come to mind at the moment are DIYNatural and Thank Your Body.

In August I will be featuring and listing powder foundation, blush and possibly face cream. I am very excited about this because I have found that these all natural cosmetics work much better than the commercial products I used to buy at the store. In the meantime please feel free to check on the two skin care items I presently have All Natural Beeswax Lip Balm and All Natural Bath Bombs.

I am also hoping to start a promotion or two in August. Exciting things will be happening at Naturally Ethereal so please keep in touch!
